Review
After successfully uncovering the murderer in Book 1, Booked for Murder, we’re right back in the thick of things with Book 2—and this time, the mystery runs even deeper. What starts as a simple front-yard renovation at the bookstore quickly takes a dark turn when buried bones are discovered, revealing a murder that actually predates the first book’s events. Needless to say, this was not on anyone’s renovation checklist.
From there, the suspect list balloons to basically everyone in town, and once again, the investigation takes a delightfully unhinged path. Just like the first book, the methods used to uncover the truth are chaotic in the best way and give us even more time with the quirky, lovable, and suspicious characters that make this small town so entertaining. If you’re a fan of cozy murder mysteries with eccentric characters, small-town drama, and a twist you don’t see coming, this one absolutely deserves a spot on your TBR. I’m seriously hoping this series keeps going because I am not done with this town yet.
