Do you find a restaurant or cafe that you love and then visit it over and over again? Yeah, me too. Would you keep going if you thought the owner hated you? I don't know if I would, but our main character does, and then she's forced to face the owner when they are both trapped in the cafe, with a box of her favorite pastries, after an earthquake traps them inside. They eat the pastries, and get to talking, and learn that all is not as it seems.
This book is perfect for what it is - a short & adorable novella with a happy ending.
"Drop, Cover, & Hold On" was a great introduction to Jasmine Guillory and I will be looking for more of her works. The story is sweet, engaging, and filled with those little moments that make you smile. The characters are well-drawn, and the plot, while simple, is executed with charm and warmth. If you’re in the mood for a quick, heartwarming read, this novella is just the ticket.
