Review

Don't start this book expecting it to be a standalone—once you finish, you'll immediately crave the sequel. The story expertly lays a foundation for future plot twists, ending on a cliffhanger that left me eagerly anticipating the next book, which unfortunately isn’t out yet!

We meet a young woman who has grown up in an orphanage, where she and the other children—bonded by the shared loss of their parents—care for one another. Her loyalty drives her to make a bold choice: when the fae come for their caregiver, she offers herself in their place.

She's taken to a cursed library and given an impossible task: catalog the books and retrieve certain genres for her fae captors. But along the way, she uncovers a dangerous secret, setting her sights on returning home. This journey pulls her into a world of friendship, love, passion, and ultimately, heartbreak.

The characters are easy to connect with, and their interactions feel genuine and heartfelt. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!

Reread June 2028

Rereading this book was one of the best decisions I could’ve made before diving into book two. I had forgotten just how many little details and character moments had shaped the story the first time around, and getting to experience them again felt like reconnecting with old friends. Revisiting the world, the characters, and the plot helped everything fall back into place—and now I feel even more emotionally invested than I was before. It’s amazing how much more excited I am for the sequel after giving myself this refresher!

The writing style remains as immersive and beautifully crafted as I remembered. The way the plot unfolds and the characters evolve is so smooth and heartfelt—it pulls you right back into the story without missing a beat. My heart is officially back in it, fully attached to the characters’ journeys and the stakes they face. If you’re planning to continue the series, I can’t recommend a reread enough—it’s the perfect way to reignite your love for the story and prepare for what’s coming next.
