Review

I’m a big fan of interconnected standalones, and *Of Heartbreak and Harmony* definitely delivers. I did read the first book, but after finishing book two, I can confidently say you don’t need to start there. Sure, there are references that will click if you’ve read book one, but you’d never know you were missing any backstory otherwise. This installment follows Callie as she reconnects with Torren King, with their early interactions unfolding in a dual timeline for the first few chapters. We get to watch their feelings deepen and grow, leading to that final HEA. I actually enjoyed this one a bit more than the first; there was just more to overcome towards the end, which kept me hooked. The character development was excellent, and I’m excited to see the HEAs for the rest of the Hometown Heartless crew!
