Review
I had to pause this book halfway through because of some competing priorities, but what really stood out to me was how much it lingered in my mind during the break. I found myself constantly thinking about the story, eager to dive back into the world of Cambric Creek. C.M. Nascosta's characters feel so authentic, and it’s a treat to see how they grow and evolve as the timeline unfolds. I also loved how familiar faces from previous books made appearances, weaving together a rich, interconnected world. Even though this is the second book in the small trilogy spin-off and I've only read one other book in the universe, every story I pick up by her just solidifies how much I adore her writing.
What truly sets Nascosta's work apart is how her personality shines through in her characters, something I noticed even more after meeting her in person. There’s such a playful and heartfelt energy to her storytelling that you can't help but enjoy. The balance between the spice level and the depth of the plot is just right—there’s substance and sizzle in equal measure. Cambric Creek has quickly become a favorite fictional escape, and this book was no exception. I can’t wait to keep exploring her stories and diving deeper into this enchanting universe.
