Review
I’d been hearing all kinds of mixed reviews about this series for months, so while it was definitely on my radar, I kept hesitating to dive in. But then a close friend (who always nails it with book recs) read the first two books and couldn’t stop raving about them. I finally gave in, and WOW—how did I let this gem sit on my TBR for so long?
This series delivers *all* the goods: a slow burn romance (seriously, the smolder is off the charts), enemies-to-lovers tension, a secretive past, a destined future, and even hints of fated mates. The plot is action-packed and layered with immersive world-building, but it’s perfectly balanced—no “just push through the world-building” moments here. It grabs you from the start and doesn’t let go.
Pro tip: listen to the audiobook. The narrator adds such depth and emotion that I’m convinced I got even more out of the story than I would’ve just reading it. I laughed, got misty-eyed, screamed (more than once), and even wanted to strangle a few characters for their stubbornness.
This book has it all, and I was so hooked I nearly pulled an all-nighter just to start the next one. If you haven’t already picked it up, do yourself a favor and read it. Then come back and tell me all your thoughts—I need someone to fangirl with!
