Review
I was surprised to find the book was not mainly about Oak, which was my impression going in, but rather about Ren, the child queen of the Court of Teeth, and a quest she embarks on with Oak. We learn a lot about her life, how she’s handled all that has happened to her, some of what actually happened to her, and see quite a bit of growth. The big secret revealed at the end I did see cunning, just not the specific details around it. The story ends of somewhat of a cliffhanger and I am excited to see how the story continues. This plot is a bit slower in pace than the Folk of the Air trilogy that lead up to this book. Definitely recommend.
