Review
I absolutely adored the first book in this series—it felt like getting wrapped up in a cozy hug with just the right touch of magic and mystery. The subtle witchy, paranormal vibes were unexpected in the best way, and I didn’t realize how much I wanted a book like that until I read it. It was atmospheric and comforting while still leaving little breadcrumbs of intrigue and mysticism without over-explaining. It hit that perfect balance of whimsical and warm, and I was genuinely excited to dive into book two.
Unfortunately, the second book took a completely different turn—and not in a good way. I can still sense that the author is trying to keep the same themes, but instead of weaving them into the story naturally like before, this one feels like reading a spiritual textbook. There's a heavy emphasis on dream walking, mysticism, and metaphysical ideas, but it’s presented more like a lecture than a story. I’ve tried to push through it three separate times, hoping it would click, but I just can’t get into it. That cozy, magical spark from book one is totally missing for me in this sequel, and it’s been a real letdown.
