Review

A Light in the Flame picks up the intense journey of Ash, the brooding Primal of Death, and Sara, his destined consort, as they delve deeper into their relationship and venture across realms in a desperate search for answers to save them all. While I didn’t feel as drawn into this installment as I was with the others in the series, my commitment to both this storyline and the original From Blood and Ash series kept me turning the pages.

I’ll admit, there were moments when my interest wavered, and I found myself trudging through sections that didn’t quite grab me. But as is often the case with books that start slow for me, sticking with it paid off. By the end, I was hooked again—especially thanks to the jaw-dropping cliffhanger that left me eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this epic saga.

Sometimes, it's the payoff that reminds you why you're invested in a series to begin with. While this book didn’t fully capture my attention throughout, it reignited my excitement for what’s to come. If you're committed to seeing where this story leads, trust me—it’s worth pushing through. Now, I can’t wait to dive into the next book and uncover what’s waiting for Ash and Sara.
