Oh wow, where do I even start?! Over the past year, I’ve discovered that second-chance romances are basically my kryptonite, and Chasing Love was exactly the kind of book to prove it again. Piper Rayne is honestly one of my auto-buy authors, and the Plain Daisy Ranch series has been a nonstop delight from book one. Now, here we are at book five, and yep—it still hits all the right spots: heart-melting romance, just enough emotional drama to keep things real, and characters you can’t help but root for. Coming back home after years away? Feeling like you’ve got your tail between your legs? Ugh, I felt that in my soul, and watching her navigate her past relationships while everyone around her stares was simply magnificent.
And can we talk about the tension?! The push-and-pull between these two had me smiling, sighing, and turning pages like a maniac. Her reluctance to jump back into a relationship with him? Chef’s kiss. Totally realistic, totally satisfying, and so classic Piper Rayne. The workplace setting adds just enough “close proximity but not too much” to make the tension simmer perfectly. Seriously, if you’ve read any of the Plain Daisy Ranch books—or if you’re curious about Piper Rayne—you NEED this one in your life.
