Review

I first marked this one as a 4-star read, but I can’t seem to get it out of my head. It keeps coming back to me at the most random times, so I’ve decided to update my rating and share again. I’m really looking forward to reading Heart Strings, which is already out!

From the very first chapter, I was completely pulled into the story thanks to the instant chemistry between the two main characters. Their connection felt so genuine—full of vulnerability, humor, and a lot of heart. That first hilarious encounter (thanks to a mis-delivered package of body bags) set the tone for a rollercoaster of emotions, playful banter, and awkward-but-cute moments that had me smiling the whole way through. The author did such a great job of showing how these two helped each other heal in subtle, emotional ways, even as they both tried so hard to pretend they were just friends.

The slow-burn romance, peppered with miscommunications and sweet tension, made this a truly delightful read. It's lighthearted, heartwarming, and full of charm, making it one of those books you want to hug when you're done. Ivy Fairbanks created a cozy, feel-good love story that made me fall in love right alongside the characters. I’m already counting down the days until book two—because I need more of this magic!

Ivy Fairbanks is such a pleasure! I had the opportunity to meet her at a signing event for another author as they did a Q&A session together and while the questions were mostly asked by Ivy, we also we able to et some insights into her and her writing style. I'm excited I was able to meet Ivy and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
