Welcome to a world where mermaids are real... And highly offended if they are called mermaids. The syrena (think: sirens) are a water bound people with multiple kingdoms. They are forbidden from living along the humans and are discouraged from spending much time on land as it is said to shorten their lifespan.

A human girl, Emma experiences a life alterning crisis when on vacation with her best friend on the same day that she meets Galen, a prince of one of the syrena kingdoms. Galen is drawn to Emma for reasons he doesn't yet understand and follows her back to Jersey where he behinds to unravel the truth of her heritage, and that if his own feelings.

For those of you who don't enjoy cliffhangers, have the second book ready to go, as you won't want to take the time to run out to get it.
