If you haven't encountered it yet, here's your warning: look at the Bridgerton books as a distant cousin to the show... while the concepts explore are loosely related, many facts, or HOW the plot points evolve, are completely different. This is my biggest issue having watched the show before reading the book and I'm glad I'll finish the rest soon, well before the next season is out... that being said...
I absolutely loved this book. I immensely enjoyed the dynamic between Penelope and Colin (and I'm trying hard to pretend the show doesn't exist here...) and how he was almost punched in the face by his feelings. The unfolding of their relationship, and the uncovering of her being Lady Whistledown was dynamic pulled the reader right into the thick of the tale. Seeing how they evolved as two separate, and by Ton standards, old and set in their way, to being one unified unit, was heartwarming.
Looking forward to jumping into the story of the next sibling, soon.
