Review
I had to give myself a few days to truly process Shield of Sparrows before writing this review, because wow—there’s just so much to unpack emotionally and narratively. The way the author weaves together rich world-building, layered character development, and intricate plot threads is nothing short of brilliant. This story has depth and nuance, and while it’s definitely packed with twists and turns, what really struck me was the emotional resonance of the characters’ relationships and the lyrical, immersive storytelling style. Even though I predicted a couple of plot developments early on, there were still moments that completely took me by surprise in the best way.
The character dynamics kept me hooked—I loved watching how they played off each other, forming connections, clashing, and growing. The magic system was fascinating to unravel, and I genuinely enjoyed diving into the little details that made the world feel so alive. But I won’t lie, the cliffhanger at the end left me reeling. I am desperate to know what happens next, and the wait for book two feels impossibly long. If you're someone who likes to devour series all in one go, you might want to hold off until more books are out, because this one is definitely binge-worthy. Still, I highly recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy with heart, depth, and a good dose of emotional turmoil.
