I absolutely fell in love with Jasmine and Derek in The Love Audit. I’m a huge sucker for second-chance romance, and this one totally delivers those vibes—childhood friends who grew up together, mutual crushes they never confessed, and then life (and family drama) blew everything up. Now, years later, they’re thrown back together as adults and forced to work as rivals on the same project. That tension? Immaculate. It really feels like a second chance at something that never got the opportunity to exist the first time around.
As the story unfolds, the romance slides into fake marriage territory in the best rom-com way—we know a happily ever after is coming, but the real joy is watching how they get there. Along the way, secrets start surfacing, not just about the project but about their families and their past, pushing Jasmine and Derek to confront what they can ethically and morally live with. This book is about healing, growth, uncovering hard truths, and working through generational trauma and long-standing family rifts. I absolutely loved it and highly, highly recommend it.
