I accidentally dove into this series with book five, completely unaware it was a series—so naturally, I had to circle back and get the full story before writing my thoughts. I’m so glad I did! This book starts off strong, throwing us right into the lingering tension between Rylan and Calista, a couple who clearly still love each other but aren’t currently together. The reasons why slowly unfold as they revisit key moments of their shared history. Watching them piece together the truth behind what drove them apart, especially with the town’s meddling elders pulling the strings, made for such an engaging ride.
The chemistry between Rylan and Calista is absolutely electric—raw, emotional, and at times, explosively romantic. Their connection had me hooked from start to finish. The way their relationship develops across timelines feels authentic and heartfelt, with just enough small-town chaos to keep things fun. I’m now even more excited to read the rest of this series, because if the other books are anything like this one, I’m in for a real treat.
