Review

From start to finish, I spent a big part of this book yelling at Tamsyn, begging her to pay attention to the obvious things happening right in front of her and actually trust her gut. But honestly, that’s part of what makes her so relatable. I loved seeing her inner monologue, wrestling with feelings of weakness and the pressure of expectations—especially because the pride around her isn’t exactly helping. They echo those doubts back at her, making her second-guess herself even more. Yet, from an outside perspective, it’s clear she’s incredibly strong. She’s growing into a warrior, slowly claiming her own power, even if she’s starting at a disadvantage, not having been raised knowing about her dragon heritage. There’s a ton she has to learn, and she’s doing it in what feels like record time.

Overall, I actually enjoyed Book 2 even more than the first one, though I’d rank them equally because both had their strengths. I’m genuinely excited to see where this series goes next—Tamsyn’s journey is just getting started, and I can’t wait to follow along.
