Review

For a solid chunk of this book, I was completely in the dark about what the actual catalytic event even was—and honestly, I kind of loved that. I had my suspicions, but I couldn’t tell if the main narrator was the culprit or the victim, so naturally I started side-eyeing every single side character like I was on my own little investigation. Watching the pieces slowly fall into place while second-guessing myself the entire time made the reading experience feel extra immersive.

And then came the moment where I realized I got at least one major thing very wrong, and wow, what a twist. There are so many layers to this story, and the author keeps things just vague enough that even as you’re moving forward, you’re still processing what you just read. It was such a fun, engaging ride, and I already know this is one of those books I’ll want to revisit later just to see what I missed the first time around.
