I’m clearly in my dual-timeline investigation era, because Showgirl Rules for Falling in Love was another win for me. This story follows a modern-day researcher who’s hired to dig through personal papers and memorabilia discovered in an attic, all tied to a client’s grandfather. As she peels back the layers of his past, she uncovers the truth about the woman he truly loved—the one he wanted to marry, rather than the woman he ultimately ended up with. Watching those hidden pieces of history come together was incredibly satisfying and kept me fully engaged.
What really stood out was how thoughtfully the book explored love across generations. The parallels between past and present relationships were woven together beautifully, showing how love sometimes requires sacrifice, vulnerability, and a whole lot of humility. I loved how real historical-feeling details were blended into the fictional narrative—it made everything feel richer and more emotional. Overall, this was such an enjoyable, heartfelt read that balanced mystery, romance, and reflection in a really compelling way.
