Review

Better Than Revenge follows a high school junior who isn’t just publicly embarrassed by her boyfriend — she’s deeply hurt when he swoops in and claims an accomplishment she’s spent years working toward. That betrayal cuts deep and sparks a full-on revenge mission that’s dramatic, emotional, and surprisingly empowering. What I loved most is how her plan slowly transforms into a journey of self-discovery, reminding her that her worth isn’t defined by one moment or one person.

On top of that, she’s coping with the painful reality of her grandmother’s Alzheimer’s and trying to hold onto their bond as things become more uncertain. Add in shifting friendships, new people joining the group, and a small mystery the friend group is determined to solve, and the story becomes a heartfelt blend of teen drama, growth, and genuine emotion. It captures just how complicated — and meaningful — those high school years can be.
