Welcome to Nightmare, Arizona—a town where nothing is quite what it seems. Olivia is heading west to start fresh, but when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, she stumbles into this strange little place. The only available job just happens to be at the town’s haunted house, which is more than a little unusual. With roles ranging from vampires and pirates to sirens and mummies, the quirky crew that runs it is unlike anyone she’s ever met. Despite their eccentricities, they welcome her into their circle, creating a sense of found family that immediately pulls her in.
But her new start isn’t quite as simple as she’d hoped. On her very first day at the haunted house, a body turns up on the doorstep, throwing suspicion on everyone around her. The deeper Olivia gets involved, the clearer it becomes that this town holds more secrets than it lets on. I loved how the story blended small-town mystery with whimsical, quirky characters, all wrapped in a strong theme of found family. I’m excited to see where the next book takes this cast of characters and what secrets still linger in Nightmare, Arizona.
