Since I accidentally started with book five in this series, even though this is technically book four, it was the last one I needed to feel fully caught up. There were definitely little gaps I noticed before—missing pieces of backstory and emotional context—and this book filled them in beautifully. I really enjoyed watching this co-parenting duo navigate the tricky balance of trying to live separate lives while still being present, supportive parents. You could feel the tension and the underlying affection between them—like, everyone could see they were totally in love except for the two of them. It was obvious in the way they interacted, even when they were trying to keep things friendly and platonic.
What really stood out for me were the emotional layers and the way their story unfolded with the help of the town’s hilariously nosy gossip app. Watching them come to terms with their feelings and finally take that leap made for such a satisfying arc. Their chemistry, their personal growth, and how the community rallied around them just hit all the right notes. Now that I’m officially caught up with all of the Bailey kids’ stories, I’m a little sad to leave them behind. But I’m holding onto hope that with such a big previous generation, we might still get more stories from this world. I’m definitely eager to see what comes next!
