I picked up The Love Con because that title alone screamed “adorable,” and I’m so glad to say it totally lived up to that expectation! This book is a warm, fuzzy celebration of the friends-to-lovers trope, wrapped up in a fun fake-dating setup that had me grinning from the very start. The story follows two best friends who agree to pretend to date for a good cause—but as they navigate the charade, all those buried feelings and unspoken moments start bubbling to the surface in the most heart-fluttering ways. I loved how their bond, already strong from years of friendship, evolved so naturally into something deeper.
What really made this one stand out for me was how grounded it felt, even with all the swoony, romantic beats. It wasn’t just a rom-com—it had heart, real challenges, and those moments where you're screaming internally, “JUST TELL THEM HOW YOU FEEL!” The chemistry was undeniable, the banter was spot on, and the emotional payoff? So worth it. If you’re a fan of slow-burn, best-friends-to-lovers romances with just the right amount of angst and a super satisfying resolution, The Love Con absolutely needs to be on your radar.
