Review
With four powerful legends, distinct home realms, and a brewing rebellion, I expected this book to be overflowing with conflict, character development, and edge-of-my-seat suspense. It had all the ingredients for something epic, but unfortunately, it never quite delivered. The worldbuilding felt like it was teetering on the edge of greatness but didn’t dig deep enough to make it immersive. Instead of leaning into the tension and stakes, the story often skimmed the surface, leaving a lot of emotional and narrative potential untapped.
Each trial the characters faced built anticipation, but instead of giving us that heart-pounding drop you expect after a slow roller coaster climb, it just… leveled out. I kept waiting for the characters to be truly tested, to grow through struggle, but things came too easily or resolved too quickly. There’s definitely promise here—the foundation is strong—but I was hoping for more grit, more tension, and more challenge for both the characters and the reader.
