Review

I’ve adored every single book in The Evergreen Park series, and even though this one leans more into spin-off territory, it still hits all the right notes that I’ve come to love from Morgan Elizabeth. This story takes a small step away from the glitz and glam of Atlas Oaks or the beauty queen world, and instead brings us to the laid-back charm of a Jersey Shore summer. It’s quieter, more intimate—but in the best way possible. The setting feels nostalgic and cozy, and it sets the perfect backdrop for a second-chance, slow-burn romance that’s hard not to root for.

This time around, we follow a “girl next door” kind of character who ends up living with her ex-boyfriend’s brother for the summer—talk about an awkward (but intriguing) setup! As they spend time together, old feelings bubble up, truths start slipping out, and the chemistry becomes impossible to ignore. And of course, in true Morgan Elizabeth fashion, we know a happily ever after is on the horizon. But it’s the emotional rollercoaster and all the heartfelt, sometimes messy moments in between that make the journey so special. I loved every second of it.
