Part of me is glad that I only have one book left in the series as I'm not sure my heart can handle any more cliffhangers in this world.
So much is revealed in this book about Oli and Nox's back story, though it feels a little late in the game that we're only learning these things in book six - I haven't forgiven Nox for his Book 1 actions, but just like I told book club, his actions have been explained, he expects nothing and feels he needs to act terrible to live up to others' expectations of him.
The plot is feeling repetitive at its base, but not enough to make me want to stop reading. The intrigue and emotional stakes still manage to keep me hooked, and the intricate web of relationships and secrets continues to draw me in. The characters have grown on me despite their flaws and missteps, and I'm invested in their journeys.
I am eager to jump into the last book and looking forward to the outcome of this tale (and fully expecting to NOT have another cliffhanger). My hopes are high for a satisfying conclusion that ties up all the loose ends and provides the emotional payoff I've been craving since the beginning. With every twist and turn, the anticipation builds, and I can't wait to see how everything finally comes together.
