Review

This book had all the makings of a fun, chaotic rom-com: a couple on the rocky road back to love, navigating the mess of pre-wedding stress while rediscovering what made them fall for each other in the first place. I was ready for a snarky, swoony, enemies-to-lovers vibe that would keep me hooked from start to finish. But honestly? The characters just wore me down. They nitpicked over the pettiest things, and instead of being funny or charming, it came off as whiny and exhausting. I kept waiting for that spark to hit, but it never quite lit for me.

I wanted to love this—truly. The concept reminded me a bit of War of the Roses, but flipped—fighting not at the end of a relationship, but right at the start of the next chapter. That should’ve been a recipe for hilarity and heart. And maybe for someone else, in a different mood, it would be. I can see the potential here, and I get where the story was trying to go. But for me, it just didn’t land. I felt more irritated than entertained, and that’s such a bummer because I had really high hopes.
