Review
This hockey romance pulled me in from the start with its layered subplots and characters that feel so real and emotionally grounded. I loved the dynamic between the figure skater and the hockey player—the way their worlds collided but also paralleled each other was such a compelling part of the story. They're both high-level athletes with different kinds of discipline, pride, and pain, and watching how they challenged and supported each other made their relationship feel genuine and earned.
What stood out most, though, was the growth both main characters go through. The female lead starts off incredibly closed off and fearful, carrying the weight of her family on her shoulders, especially when it comes to caring for her brothers. Her journey toward trusting others, letting go of guilt, and recognizing her own worth was so powerful. The male lead also grows from someone haunted by past trauma into someone capable of real connection and vulnerability. I loved how they helped each other heal, not by fixing one another, but by encouraging independence and confidence. The epilogue wrapped things up beautifully, and now I’m more than ready for book two!
